秋葵视频 to Observe No Impact Week

eaglehead秋葵视频 will observe 鈥淣o Impact Week鈥 beginning April 15 as a way to educate students and the community about how to lessen their impact on the environment. 鈥淭his week is dedicated to showing how a few easy changes can make a very positive difference in our environment,鈥 said 秋葵视频 Center for Sustainability Director Lissa Leege, Ph.D. 鈥淟ast year, more than 1300 of our students signed up and agreed to take steps to lessen their impact on the environment. We expect even greater participation this year.鈥 Each day of 鈥淣o Impact Week鈥 is dedicated to a specific issue, including water, transportation, and recycling. Numerous events will be held around the campus that will demonstrate easy things each person can do that will help the environment. 鈥淲e鈥檒l have a clothing swap where students can trade clothes rather than discarding old ones and buying new, we鈥檒l have a water taste-test that will show people that tap water tastes just as good as bottled 鈥 and doesn鈥檛 lead to millions of plastic bottles in landfills. We鈥檒l check people鈥檚 tire pressure and add air to make sure they are getting the best gas mileage, and we鈥檒l conduct a campus watershed clean-up,鈥 said Leege. 鈥淪omething as simple as changing from bottled water to tap is almost effortless, but will make a significant and very positive impact on the environment.鈥 Leege says this year, Briggs and Stratton is participating in several 鈥淣o Impact Week鈥 projects on the Georgia Southern campus and will be observing the week in its Statesboro plant. 鈥淣o Impact Week鈥 will wrap up on Monday, April 23 with a presentation by Jeffrey Hollander at the University鈥檚 Performing Arts Center. Hollander co-founded the green household product company Seventh Generation and is a leader in the sustainability movement. His 7 p.m. presentation is free and open to the public. 鈥淣o Impact Week鈥 is sponsored by 秋葵视频鈥檚 Center for Sustainability and the University Wellness Program.
