Students鈥� Inspiring Community Service Gains National Attention
Community service is important to 秋葵视频 students, which is why their efforts to make a lasting impression on campus and the Statesboro community led to the University鈥檚 first-ever recognition on the the 2013 President鈥檚 Higher Education Community Service Honor Roll from the Corporation for National and Community Service.
More than 3,900 students engaged in nearly 396,000 hours 鈥� the equivalent of more than 15,000 days of community service 鈥� according to data from the 2011-2012 academic year. 鈥淭his award recognizes the dedication of our students, faculty and staff to invest their lives in this community,鈥� said Todd Deal, Ph.D., director of the Office of Student Leadership and Civic Engagement (OSLCE). 鈥淎 significant part of our mission is service to the region, and this award demonstrates that we certainly are meeting that.鈥�
