Multidisciplinary artist Raheleh Filsoofi, who is based in Texas, South Florida and Iran, will share works that explore global, socio-political issues through a personal lens with a blend of ancient and contemporary media such as ceramics, poetry, ambient sound and video in her exhibition, 鈥淥verview Effect.鈥� The exhibit is currently on view through Dec. 6 in the Contemporary Gallery at the Center for Art & Theatre on 秋葵视频鈥檚 Statesboro Campus. 

鈥淔ilsoofi鈥檚 work brings together a range of ideas and approaches and technologies that yield a complex mesh that鈥檚 very of-the-moment,鈥� said Jason Hoelscher, gallery director in the Betty Foy Sanders Department of Art. 鈥淚t鈥檚 a microcosm of the many voices and viewpoints that come together to form culture.鈥�

The exhibition title, 鈥淥verview Effect,鈥� stems from Frank White鈥檚 book, The Overview Effect: Space Exploration and Human Evolution, which details astronauts鈥� experiences of seeing Earth in its fullness.

鈥淭he work in this show exposes the nature of social and personal awareness, the awareness of self and the awareness of others, in the environment of international politics that filters human interaction around the world,鈥� said Filsoofi.
