Betty Foy Sanders Department of Art hosts online exhibition 鈥2020 Student Juried Annual鈥

The Betty Foy Sanders Department of Art (BFSDoArt) is hosting its annual juried student exhibitions this spring, but for the first time they are appearing online. The final juried exhibition of the spring features student work from students enrolled in BFSDoArt undergraduate classes at any level on the Armstrong Campus. The 鈥2020 Student Juried Annual鈥 is usually held on the Armstrong Campus, however the COVID-19 pandemic changed exhibition plans. The exhibition is available to view online through May 10.
The exhibition features works from 25 students juried by Chris Trice, associate professor of photography at the University of North Florida.
鈥淭he 鈥2020 Student Juried Annual鈥 is one of the most anticipated exhibitions at the Armstrong Campus鈥檚 Fine Arts Gallery,鈥 said gallery director Raymond Gaddy. 鈥淲e鈥檙e disappointed that this year’s exhibition couldn鈥檛 be physically installed in the Gallery. However, we鈥檙e so proud of our students and their work and in this time when we need silver linings. Professor Trice did a great job selecting a strong body of work for the exhibition. I鈥檓 thrilled that the 2020 Student Juried Annual could still be held online and seen by, quite possibly, by a larger group of people.鈥
The juror award winners are Andrea Tellado, who was awarded first place for her piece, 鈥淢C.鈥 Tom Curran received second place for his painting 鈥淢orii 9.鈥 Clara Lynn Glander was awarded third place for 鈥淛amel.鈥 Emma Lewis and Autumn Shade received honorable mentions.
