Georgia Southern to host free screening of “Bully,” Q&A with area experts to follow

On Tuesday, Feb. 12, Ƶ College of Education will host a free screening of “Bully,” a film documenting the effects of bullying on school-aged students and their families. The screening, which is free and open to the public, will begin at 6 p.m. in University Hall, room 156, located on the Armstrong Campus in Savannah.

Open House highlights Georgia Southern, Savannah State partnership

To provide unprecedented educational opportunities for the region, Ƶ and Savannah State University (SSU) will host a joint open house on Georgia Southern’s Liberty Campus in Hinesville on Feb. 7 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.

Military members and their families, and other prospective students, will have the chance to learn more about career-enhancing programs where they live and work. During the event, SSU President Cheryl Davenport Dozier, and Georgia Southern Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs Carl L. Reiber will discuss the universities’ strategic partnership and share more about the importance of making these programs available to prospective students.

Artist combines science, art in exhibition on Statesboro Campus

Artist and urban explorer Marie Lorenz has spent her life working on a project that has merged the tools of science and art, while underlining the relational nature between the environmental elements of the river (currents, ecology, flotsam and pollution) as well as the people who live, work and play in that environment.

Georgia Southern production invited to Kennedy Center American College Festival Region IV

The Ƶ’s Theater and Performance Program fall 2018 season opener on the Statesboro Campus, “Emilie: La Marquise Du Chatelet Defends Her Life Tonight,” has been selected to perform at the Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival (KCACTF) Region IV on Feb. 7 at Converse College in Spartanburg, South Carolina.

Georgia Southern Counseling Center, Director honored by Georgia College Counseling Association

The Ƶ Counseling Center was awarded Clinical Program of the Year for its Doctoral Internship in Health Service Psychology program at the Georgia College Counseling Association 26th Annual Conference in St. Simons Island. In addition, Counseling Center Executive Director, Jodi K. Caldwell, Ph.D., was awarded College Counseling Director of the Year.

Collaborative concert featuring vocals, piano coming to Armstrong Campus

Ƶ Armstrong Campus faculty member Emily Grundstad-Hall, D.M.A., and Professor of Piano Jens Marggraf of Martin Luther University in Halle, Germany, will present Crossing Borders, a collaborative concert Feb. 12 at 7:30 p.m. The concert will be at the Fine Arts Auditorium on the Armstrong Campus.
